We had an amazing stay at Backyard Balangoda. The 360° panoramic view is absolutely breathtaking and makes this place truly special. The entire villa is beautifully designed, very comfortable, and surrounded by a peaceful and calm atmosphere. It’s an especially romantic place for couples — quiet, private, and perfect for relaxing together while enjoying the incredible mountain views. ❤️ The food was another highlight. Es war rund um der allerbeste Aufenthalt unserer ganzen Reise in Sri Lanka. Wir haben uns unfassbar wohlgefühlt bei Sumith, seinem Hund Bruno und den Mitarbeitenden. Wir wurden sehr herzlich aufgenommen und jeder Wunsch wurde erfüllt. Sogar bei einigen medizinischen Dingen wurde uns direkt proaktiv geholfen – sehr nett! Die Unterkunft ist einfach ein architektonisches Meisterwerk in Form und Farbe. Die Ausblicke sind einzigartig in dieser ruhigen Gegend mitten in der Natur. Das Essen war das beste und authentischste, was wir in ganz Sri Lanka hatten – vor allem das Frühstück! Mit Sumith haben die drei Tage unfassbar Spaß gemacht. Wir konnten viel von ihm lernen – über Tee, Kaffee, Zimt, die Gem-Mienen, die Wasserfälle und über das Land. Jede Frage wurde beantwortet und es war immer ein Spaß mit dabei. Wenn ihr also die Möglichkeit habt, nach Sri Lanka zu reisen und ein paar Tage Ruhe, tolle Menschen und super Essen sucht, ist das genau der Ort, an den ihr hin müsst! This place is a true hidden gem between Norwood and Balangoda, offering breathtaking views of the Balangoda area and Dethangala mountain! 🏞️ While the rooms are clean and well-maintained(please note that if you expect a well facilitated 3+ Hotel room ,this is not for you), the real highlight is the incredible service. The staff goes above and beyond, even serving meals in different scenic spots. This hidden gem in the mountains is nestled in an authentic, off-the-beaten-path region away from tourist crowds. The beautifully built homes sit right inside a lush tea plantation, offering scenic views and peaceful hikes starting right from the doorstep. Our host, Sumith, was exceptionally welcoming and took us on an unforgettable trip to stunning waterfalls and natural rock pools to explore and relax and also added a short course on tea picking and coffee production. We both had a wonderful stay at Hotel Backyard Balangoda. The hospitality was exceptional, friendly & truly supportive . The hotel offers a beautiful view of the surrounding scenery, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with reviewing the wonder of the Sri Lanka up country .We both really enjoyed Dethanagala tea as well.the facilities are luxurious, clean, and well maintained, making the stay very comfortable. Wir haben unsere ersten drei Nächte hier verbracht. Der Gastgeber ist wunderbar! Wir haben hier einen wunderbaren Start in Sri Lanka erlebt. Viel über das Land und die Kultur erfahren. Alle Angestellte und die Leute aus der Region sind ebenfalls sehr freundlich und hilfbereit. Die Lodge ist super schön, das essen sehr gut und es gibt hier viel zu erleben. Unbedingt herkommen, es lohnt sich sehr.! Vielen herzlichen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und werden es all unseren Freunden weiterempfehlen!
